Walk through your experience with changing your diet over time to address health issues and remain healthy

Remember – Food is important, I used to write down everything I ate, date/time...

Understand – I understood the impact of different foods on my health

Apply – So I came up with a diet, and stuck to it

Analyze – I would track my weight, blood pressure, and things were going well, until I hit 50 and started getting high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Evaluate – so I evaluated the situation, did some research, saw my doctor, and I created the following plan:

Create – take a med for high blood pressure, changed my diet again: less carbs, more protein, reduce cheese consumption (I love cheese), more fruits and vegetables, get more omega 3 and 6 fatty acids in fish, start exercising again.: walking and lift weights.  And now the blood pressure and cholesterol levels are back to a reasonable healthy range. And I lost 10 pounds.

Break into groups for political discussion

Talk about what we covered here today, then talk about any political issues you think are important.  Use those listening skill we discussed, and the Socratic Method.

Have someone in each group provide a summary of what you discussed and views expressed.
